Description

Three sisters. Motherless daughters of the high king. The eldest is the warrior-woman heir;the middle child is shy and full of witchy intuition;and the youngest, Princess Amelia, she is as beautiful as the sun and just as generous.

Ami met her Prince Charming and went away to his castle on the stormy sea-cliffs-and that should have been her happily ever after. Instead, her husband lies dead and a war rages. Her middle sister has been taken into a demon land, turned into a stranger. The priests and her father are revealing secrets and telling lies. And a power is rising in Ami, too, a power she hardly recognizes, to wield her beauty as a weapon, and her charm as a tool to deceive…

Amelia has never had to be anything but good and sweet and kind and lovely. But the chess game for the Twelve Kingdoms has swept her up in it, and she must make a gambit of her own. Can the prettiest princess become a pawn-or a queen?

Reviews

“Ami’s transition into a woman with a richer inner life is so complex and well done”

“THE TEARS OF THE ROSE strikes gold…”

~ Fresh Fiction

“…a gripping and exciting read…”

~ That’s What I’m Talking About

“Jeffe Kennedy turns…convention on its head in her latest fantasy romance novel, Tears of the Rose. This adult retelling of Beauty and the Beast shows that true love can occur more than once in an enchanted life time.”

~ Heroes & Heartbreakers

“The conclusion was absolutely thrilling and I find myself wondering just how we will be able to follow Amelia’s next steps on her important mission since the third book, The Talon of the Hawk, features the eldest sister.”

~ Tynga’s Reviews

“Although The Tears of the Rose picks up immediately after book one, new readers will have no trouble following along as the events surrounding Prince Hugh’s death – at the hands of Amelia’s sister – are quickly described. Amelia’s journey from pampered princess to empowered woman begins with sorrow and pain, until she begins to see her purpose and embraces her newfound strength and power. She is a surprising female character, as is the scarred and mysterious Ash. He shows Ami what passion and love truly mean in the sexiest way possible – loving her unconditionally even when it seems impossible for them to be together. One of the highlights of the Twelve Kingdom series so far is that the women are charged with saving themselves and creating their own happily-ever-after, with the men surrounding them just one part of the process.”

~RT Book Reviews – TOP PICK GOLD!

“All in all this is a wonderful Fantasy Romance filled with emotion and suspense. I felt like rereading it the moment I finished it, and you can bet I will put this ARC on my keeper shelves…”

~Pearls Cast Before a McPig

“This is light fantasy/fantasy romance. I enjoyed it and…. I want more. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.”

~Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell

“I’m a big fan of Jeffe Kennedy’s writing.  She’s my go-to writer when I want a feel-good romance with a little bit of heat and a happy ending.  This series has fit the bill perfectly, and I can’t wait to see how it ends!”

~Books Without Any Pictures

Certainly, Jeffe Kennedy’s characters are not perfect. No, they are flawed, even Andi in the first book, but their flaws are believable and makes them relatable. So, even if you don’t like them (like I didn’t like Amelia at first), you can definitely understand where they’re coming from.
